CHRISTMAS BREAK-LONGEST POST EVER

My Christmas Break was almost a month long and I acted like it was the last time I would ever get to play (which might be true for at least the next couple of months with school and my internship). JP and I played hard! We skied everyday we could. Josh was in town and we skied together a bunch of times too!

Our first trip was to Silverton, CO. It was 22 degrees below 0 at the base. The elevation was 13,300 (typo in slideshow) making it harder to breathe. I even woke up with a bloody nose, cause we were so high.. I think. We skied the "resort" the first day. There were signs everywhere saying, "YOU MIGHT DIE TODAY." Each skier was required to have an avalanche beacon, shovel, and probe. There was one twin chair to the top, requiring a hike to the best ski areas. This was the first year you could ski without a guide and they opened the mountain the day we got there! For all the hard core people I went with, this was no big deal, but I'm not afraid to admit that this was a pretty big deal to me! The snow was incredible and we had an amazing time. JP got some good footage too. We did have one little mishap-I kind of got stuck on a cliff without JP and it took me forever to get down! I had to put my skis on my backpack, hike down backwards, one tiny step after another, holding on to a rope. I was praying and swearing all at the same time. When I FINALLY got down, a ski patroller told me I was a "missing person." I had to laugh cause he identified me by my sweet hot pink pants JP gave me for Christmas (what would I have done without those?) Thanks, babe. Anyway, needless to say we survived and had lots of fun (minus the cliff). The next day we skinned up a mountain and skied down. I was a little worried I would not have the lung capacity or strength to keep up, but this was actually my favorite part of the trip! It was a perfect, beautiful day. I loved it. We also got in the hot-pots, danced in the streets, and explored the whole tiny town. This just might become a yearly tradition.

Sunvalley was super fun too! My mom, dad, Josh, JP and I went to ski and visit my dad's family for the weekend. We stayed with my Uncle Jeff who provided a whole grocery store selection of food to choose from, cute Mckenna who gave up her bedroom, and Puff and Izz (their dogs). The first day we skied LONG, FAST groomers, but it snowed about 3+ feet that night (which usually NEVER happens when we go) and had amazing snow the next day. A little boy got buried in a small avalanche on the resort, but fortunately ski patrol found him and pulled him out in time! It was so much fun to ski and relax with (part) of my family and to see all of my grandparents. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE TRIP MOM AND DAD!

This slide show is REALLY random, but I'm just learning how these stupid things work. If I knew another way to post lots of pics without creating a slideshow I would do it, but, just like my big sis (love ya)!, I am technologically/blogger challenged.
It took WAY too long to explain the pics with captions, so here's my explanation:
December 28 was our 3 year anniversary! YAY! Since I STILL have not developed our wedding pics, I thought I would post one.
Indie entered the terrible 2's on the 28th too! New Year's Eve was super fun! Tons of friends were at Sean and Jill's cabin and I stayed up until 6:00am and then woke up at 8:00 (yuck!) to go backcountry skiing. We played board games, guitar hero, got in the hot tub, and went sledding (Des was very insistent!) It was a long, fun-filled night. Thanks Sean and Jill. KT and Nate were in town and it was fun to see them. We owe them big time!! Thanks for taking care of our naughty, naughty dogs-a story to be told later. I think the rest of the pictures pretty much explain themselves.

You are hard core. And I had to laugh when you said you were cussing the whole time...I don't believe it. Happy Anniversary! And sad amongst your Christmas highlights there wasn't a "glad I got to see my bro and sis-in-law".

Addy...I really haven't done my Christmas highlights yet, I promise! And when I do, I will take extra special care to say how fun it was to see you.I kind of went out of order but I was planning on posting about Christmas, sometime. I wanted to copy you with the cute picture of the kids on their toys too!

I love hearing about your adventures! You and JP are unbelievable. Good thing for those hot pink pants. You are awesome. I can't believe that girl said the Praxis was easy--no way! Now it's just the anticipation of getting the scores back! I'm sure you did fine!
