15.9.10

I haven't blogged in about 3 months which means I have a gazillion pictures to post. I tried really hard to narrow our pictures down to a few... and a few ended up being 111! Woops! I know I have a problem, but I am kind of addicted to taking pictures (especially of our little Breck) and I have a hard time posting out of chronological order (believe it or not, but I showed a little restraint and left out a lot of pictures and events). Please tell me I'm normal, even though I know fully well I'm not :)

My baby is ONE! We were in Newport Beach for Brecken's birthday with JP's family.
Brecken had sooo much fun playing with her cousins and hanging out at the beach. I
brought my rollerblades and loved pushing Brecken along the boardwalk while JP ran
next to us. We took Brecken to Balboa Island and got her a fro-cho-bana for her
birthday. She loves bananas and I think the cold felt good on her teeth (look at all that
drool). This was the most relaxed Newport trip I've ever had. It was the best thing in
the world to spend every second with Brecken and take a week long break from work.
We pretty much didn't leave each others' sight the entire time.

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to, cry if I want to... Breck was hilarious when we brought out her birthday cake. She didn't know what to do and we had to give her a little coaxing before she would try her cake. She likes to work for her attention and was surprised when the spotlight was on her. She got a couple mouthfuls of sand our first few days on the beach and I think she was worried her cake would taste the same. She had no trouble digging in once she realized it was meant to be eaten. Our bikes were our car for most of the trip and we picked up some birthday balloons and tied them to the chariot. Brecken looked like a little princess in her chariot with the balloons blowing in the wind.

We got to hang out with Katie and Nate for a couple of days and realized how much we miss them. They are two of the kindest, most generous people I have ever known. Thanks for dinner and for letting us stay with you guys!
Brecken loves to hold on to objects. Once she gets them, she doesn't let go. Her favorites so far are a toy baseball bat (she slept with it and carried it around with her for two days), hair brushes, shampoo bottles, and lip gloss.
She lifts one leg up on couches, chairs, or other things just her size and holds it there. I think she's trying to be a ballerina and JP says she's going to be a rock climber. Maybe she'll get a little of both :)

It was fun to be with the whole Lewis clan. It is not very often that we all get to be together at once. Jerry and Shelle made sure we all had a nice trip. JP had fun longboarding, body boarding, running, and chillin with our baby girl. Oh yeah...and eating at the Crab Cooker, how could I forget? He is a true beach bum and got fried the second day we got there. He ended up wearing a shirt for the rest of trip. I am proud to say that I DID NOT GET BURNT for probably the first time ever! It felt so great.

I know I'm obsessed, but she is such a little character. I love all of her faces. We went camping to Moab and Canyonlands for Labor Day weekend. Most of our plans fell through and it could have been a crappy weekend, but we still ended up having a ton of fun. Brecken is a terrible sleeper on camping trips or anytime when she can't cry herself to sleep because other people are around. She thinks it is time to party and can stay up until 4 am laughing and giggling. I was soooo tired. We smartened up the next couple of nights and let her cry herself to sleep in the car before transferring her to the tent. It worked like a charm. I live for weekends and quick getaways with our little family.

Lots of fun hikes, beautiful scenery, and one happy camper :)
We took a little backpacking trip to the Uintas. It was unbelievably pretty and fun, but we had some rough nights. We came home to find out that Brecken had a double ear infection. She loved the daytime, but was miserable at night. She has had just about every sickness an infant/toddler can get, but is usually pretty happy through it all.

Brecken gathered every little rock in sight to use as a teether. I put a stop to that pretty fast, but she still had fun gathering little rocks and putting them in a pile.
Another birthday celebration for Brecken with the my family. She is one spoiled little girl and is lucky to have so many fun cousins from both sides of the family.

Few random pictures that didn't really belong anywhere else.
Top row: Fun moutain biking we got caught in a CRAZY rain/lightning storm. I was super muddy. Brecken's kissy face. My mom and Breck at a 4th of July Bees Game thanks to Hollie and Casey. Aebleskiver's: Lewis tradition. YUMMY!
Middle Row: Cute Brecken. Night Riding-JP can't open his eyes for the flash. Brecken practicing her ballet technique again.
Bottom Row: Prettiest field of sunflowers I've ever seen-the picture does not do it justice. Squaw Peak on a beautiful day. Swimming with the cousins.

BylundFest 2010. I love the picture of Capri and Brecken screaming while my dad smiles for the camera. My grandparents are the cutest, huh? We had fun jet-skiing, horseback riding (please notice Libby's popped leg/pose in the picture), seeing all our relatives (106 made it this year), playing in the sand, and riding the Bear Lake 50 miler with my mom. She rode like and maniac and finished 3rd!

WAHOO! I finally posted. There are probably a million typos cause I'm really tired, but hopefully it's partially coherent.
