SCHOOL'S OUT FOREVER!!!

Just call us Captain JP and Master Brittany!
JP graduated from Utah Valley University with a Bachelor's degree in aviation science/professional pilot, and I graduated from the University of Utah with a Master's degree in speech-language pathology! JP was too cool for school and decided not to walk, but I did. I posted enough pictures so that those of you who couldn't make it could actually feel like you were there, but you didn't have to sit through a long, painful graduation:) Thanks for all the support, encouragement, calls, and emails and thanks to my family members who could make it and made me feel like a rock star with your awesome cheering! I love you guys!

We ate dinner at Biaggi's after graduation, and it was delicious as usual (if you haven't been you should definitely go)! JP gave me 10 pounds of Haribo gummi bears for my graduation gift...any bets on how long it will last?

These are some of the pictures we used and wished we used for our announcements. They were next to each other and formatted so perfectly and now they're messed up?

WOW WOW WOW. Muchos Congratulations. I must say, JP has it figured out as far as graduations go. Neither Adam nor I went to either of ours...and I am already dreading having to sit through his upcoming one. And it's three years away. But good job to both of you, what now?

Dear Beeta,
Congrats on a great accomplishment and to Peeps too! Nice posts of photos, best of all is arm raised in triumph; can I keep showing it to people on my i-phone?

All graduates get advice. Here's some you probably won't get, using lyrics from song popular when I graduated in '74 to show how rock and roll misguides our youth (does that sound like a conference talk or what!?). Alice Cooper's song Schools Out teaches the perverse and wrong idea that learning has no value and is to be shunned. Think of the damage done by these lyrics and the irony that Alice and Pink Floyd, who sing We Don't Need No Education, have benefited throughout their lucrative careers by hiring accountants to keep track of their money, attorneys to keep them out of court, recording studios full of engineering feats, etc.
A little ditty from Alice:
School's out for summer
School's out forever
School's been blown to pieces

No more pencils
No more books
No more teacher's dirty looks

Out for summer
Out till fall
We might not go back at all

School's out forever
School's out for summer
School's out with fever
School's out completely

Sometimes we can be illustrate a principle by looking at the falsity of its opposite. Your wise and hypocritical father who listens to rock n roll most days,
love,
dad

Beeta it's great that you graduated and all but I'm just a little surprised that you haven't posted any pictures of your one retarded friend on your blog yet!
