The Sky is the Limit!

JP just passed his commercial check ride with "flying" colors. This is a HUGE accomplishment and I am so excited for him (and us)! He has been working on this for a long time and is now a commercial pilot and one GINORMOUS step closer to being finished. This is a video of him performing a commercial maneuver called a power off 180. You have to turn 180 degrees while your engine is out and you must land within 100 ft. of the thousand foot markers on the runway. Sounds pretty freakin' tricky/sick/awesome/sweet to me! I have been amazed at how smoothly he lands when I have flown with him. Way to go JP!!
For the slow ones around here...this was my attempt to create a plane flying a congratulations sign (you know how you see those at the beach?), but JP didn't get it, hence my explanation to you.

I am not talented enough to make an airplane cake, so this is the best I could do.

JP told me these were not aerodynamically correct and would not fly. At least they look kind of cute, right?

Saint George Trip with Jon, Shelby, and Owen, and biking and skiing with Emily and Tiffany

I AM GETTING OLD(er)! I turned the big 24 on the 9th. "Happy to you me" as cute little Indie says. Kelene, Tiffany, and Hollie got me rollerblades!! Now I can go fruit bootin' too! I can't believe all the calls, texts, emails, cards, and messages people left. It made my day!!! Thanks a million.

My BFF, Lori, sent me pictures of us when we were little for my last two birthdays. Priceless! Bet you're jealous of my boots!
Does this picture look candid? Cause it's not. My dad really wanted it to look natural, but I blew it by looking at the camera. I got the coolest birthday candles ever (or maybe they were just hard to come by). My step grandpa made his famous pound cake and it was delicious!

Two more cute moms! I love the look on Nash's face.

My family usually celebrates my birthday and mother's day on mother's day because they're so close together. I hope you had a happy mother's day mom! Thanks for sharing it with me.

Libby's birthday card to me said, "I no I can go mountain biking sometime." It was so cute.

My Grandma Jaacks and Step Grandpa were in town for Mother's day. It was fun to see them.
JP and I went to Sundance for my birthday and coincidentally my parents and their BFFs were there!

I told my parents to start a blog, but because I know they won't I decided to post the picture for them!

We got to go to the last Jazz game. The 4th quarter was ALMOST awesome, but then they lost...well, you know!

SCHOOL'S OUT FOREVER!!!

Just call us Captain JP and Master Brittany!
JP graduated from Utah Valley University with a Bachelor's degree in aviation science/professional pilot, and I graduated from the University of Utah with a Master's degree in speech-language pathology! JP was too cool for school and decided not to walk, but I did. I posted enough pictures so that those of you who couldn't make it could actually feel like you were there, but you didn't have to sit through a long, painful graduation:) Thanks for all the support, encouragement, calls, and emails and thanks to my family members who could make it and made me feel like a rock star with your awesome cheering! I love you guys!

We ate dinner at Biaggi's after graduation, and it was delicious as usual (if you haven't been you should definitely go)! JP gave me 10 pounds of Haribo gummi bears for my graduation gift...any bets on how long it will last?

These are some of the pictures we used and wished we used for our announcements. They were next to each other and formatted so perfectly and now they're messed up?

March: Easter, 5 birthdays, a mission call, and more!

I think most of you know this by now, but my FAVORITE little brother got his mission call to WEST VIRGINIA! We are trying to get as much playing time in as possible before he leaves. YAY Josh! We are so proud of you. I know the formatting is all screwy, but I don't know how to fix it, so this is what you get!

Look at those tough guys!

Skiin' bikin' and pole, pedal, paddlin'! Our camera was missing since last Easter, but I found it this Easter hidden in a pile of plastic eggs! YAY! Some of these pictures are from last year (the pole, pedal, paddle- race we did in Jackson Hole which involved a downhill ski, run, bike, and kayak down the freezing cold river), and the rest are just more pictures of skiing and biking in the snow.

If my sister and sisters-in-law did not have their own blogs (with pictures and graphics that beat mine to the ground) I think my whole blog would be dedicated to the nieces and nephews. We had a busy month...with the majority of both families in Utah we have lots to celebrate! It was Easter, Grandma's 88th birthday, Rylee's and Tristan's 4th, Chase's 7th, and if Ady was here, we would have celebrated hers too! I can't wait til May...that is the REAL birthday month.

Tagged by Hollie...20 reasons I suck.

First, a little disclaimer: I am a little nervous to post this because Hollie is funny and I am not. People laughed when Hollie made her list and I'm pretty sure people will just feel pity for me and try to convince me that I don't suck. This is just fun and games because we were kind of sick of hearing about perfection and needed a reality check. I can laugh about everything I wrote and I hope you can too!!

1. I lose everything. Just yesterday, I was pretty sure I lost $80. I found it in my wallet, right where it should be?!
2. I am messy messy messy. I think it would be hard for anyone else to make the messes I do-let alone, clean them up.
3. I have REALLY good intentions, but REALLY poor follow-through."The pathway to hell was paved with good intentions." Is that right? I have thank you cards, letters, and presents from years ago. Sorry potential recipients.
4. I am lazy. I can sleep all day and still not feel rested. Contrary to what most of you might believe, I would rather stay in bed like Hollie wants to, but JP won't allow it. JP might kill me for saying this, but I fell asleep kissing him when we were dating!
5. I procrastinate like crazy. I justify myself by saying I work well under pressure. Too bad it only works sometimes.
6. I'm the worst commenter on blogs. I really like seeing what everyone is doing, but I just don't comment very often.
7. Okay, I'm copying Hollie again, but our suckiness must be genetic. I can't buy anything full price, but LOVE a good sale. Luckily, I have a husband who LOVES the opposite.
8. I'm indecisive. My dad always asked me if I wanted an opinion for Christmas. Maybe I will get one this year.
9."I'm always late, but worth the wait!" I don't know if that last part is true, but I do have a reputation of being late. Somehow the on-time family gene slipped passed me.
10. I wear "inappropriate shoes" to my internship. Ha ha.
11. My idea of cooking dinner is throwing frozen foods in the toaster oven.
12. I can't rock climb. JP agrees. Kelene told me to try a "really easy" route, her "warm-up" and said I could "walk up it." She was pretty embarrassed when I couldn't do it! Don't worry, I think it's funny.
13. I get weird ailments/injuries all the time. I need knee replacements and I'm 23.
14. I don't call my family and friends nearly enough.
15. I eat WAY more junk food than fruits and veggies.
16. I just learned a new one! Apparently, I'm incapable of replacing empty toilet paper rolls. Another genetic trait.
17. I take pictures of everyone and say I will email them, but never do. Maybe I will start tomorrow.
18. I sometimes laugh or make a face when I lead the music in sacrament because I still don't know what I'm doing and I can't sing (is that 3 reasons?)
19. I don't cross train and I'm always sore (this reason is kind of a joke for JP).
20. I'm known as queenie or #1 by my family cause I really don't suck, and I do everything right!!!! Just kidding, this brings me to my last point...I cried every time a sibling would say that until I was about 18. I still might be a LITTLE sensitive-OK a LOT.

I tag Alison, Liz, and JP and anybody else who wants to do it.

Our Motto: Work Hard...Play Hard!

SAINT GEORGE WEEKEND GETAWAY
WE ARE SUPER CHEESY!!

On Top of the World!

JP is displaying his macho "wing." He kept referring to his arms as wings, and said the girls were under them (meaning he would take care of us if anything went wrong!) We (the girls) like to think that we can take care of ourselves- and we are slowly learning-but when chains, brakes, and shocks malfunction ...sometimes(I might get in trouble for saying this)... we just need a guy!

MOAB WEEKEND GETAWAY

This is a picture of me teaching Tiffany how to hug. It's been a process, but she actually initiated this hug, so I thought I had to document and share it. She was pretty proud of herself and it was ALMOST natural. How do you feel about an occasional girl hug?

Ok, I am not attempting the impossible (winning the best aunt/uncle award) by posting this picture because there is no contest. Josh wins. Hands down. To be completely honest, I didn't even take Chase snowboarding, I just saw him there with his dad and buddies. I just wanted to show you a picture of this hardcore little dude.
